Installing software without DVD (Rosetta Rock)
I have Rosetta Rock (version three) on my old laptop. I got a new laptop but I can't find the DVDs anywhere and I really desire to accept it on my laptop earlier I go on a long journey (30 hours) and then I can keep myself occupied. When I endeavor to copy the Rosetta Stone folder to an external hardrive onto my new laptop it'southward missing the language files. Anyone know which files I take to copy from my quondam laptop onto the new one? My onetime laptop is Win XP new one is Win 7. Thanks!
Oh as well on my new laptop doesn't take a CD ROM drive then I would still demand to copy the files to my external hardrive in one case I find the DVDs in order to install it so whatever help would exist appreciated.

Only legal advice y'all will get is contact Rosetta Stone on how to obtain digital copy of their software. No one will tell you how to get pirate copy in here.

Hmmm I didn't ask for a pirated copy not sure why y'all jumped to that assumption. I accept the DVDs which I paid for, information technology'southward already on my laptop I'chiliad asking how I can get it on my new laptop if doesn't take a DVD actor...somewhen I will observe the DVDs (they're packed in a box somewhere as I recently moved). In the mean time I'thou request which files I demand to re-create over from my one-time laptop onto my new i for my upcoming trip. My old laptop is too large and heavy (and slow) to take with me plus the battery life is pretty bad.

Yea, my bad if y'all took my diction the incorrect way. I did it intentionally. Unfortunately, simply way to install something you own without using whatsoever copy protection nor the original media deejay is using something past someone who had already 'cracked' it. That's the easiest way I see you installing on your figurer without DVD drive and you missing your DVD media. Or you demand to contact Rosetta Stone for digital version.
Some other way you tin can do is actually finding the DVD media and copy all the content to your harddrive and pray at that place is no copy protection on it.

Ohhh ok cheers. Hmmm I wish in that location was a manner to just copy everything over from my old hard drive to the new. I don't think Rosetta Stone offers a digital version but I will cheque - that sucks because many new laptops don't have a DVD thespian so that means I'yard stuck using information technology only on my old laptop. Thanks for your help.

In virtually cases you can't just move software to another computer by simply re-create/pasting the installation files...some simpler software, yes, just most have stuff in multiple folders as well every bit the registry. Even so if you do find your install disks, and so you shouldn't have a trouble installing it to the new computer...Usually you can but copy the files to a USB stick or hard drive, or in the worst case you tin make an .iso of it and mount it every bit a virtual drive in the new estimator.

Y'all're not pirating if you already own a license to the aforementioned version. "Learn" the ISOs from elsewhere and utilize your keys.

Use the search function on the computer and search for the following without quotes ":
"rosetta"
"*.rsd"
"*.swa"
Worth a try but commonly you would have to re-install the plan anyways. Using another .iso with your own purchased keys is a good idea.

Some other selection would be to transfer the whole sometime laptop into a VM box into the new laptop and use Rosetta Stone from there. In Win7 u can employ a programme installed in Windows XP Mode straight from Win7 desktop. Of course it's non worth the time and trouble if you but demand this software but if u want to get rid of the old laptop and need other programs too give it a try

My new Macbook Pro doesn't take a DVD slot; I merely bought a portable DVD reader to plug in when I need information technology.

Thank you everyone! I went digging through the boxes and I found them. Can someone tell me the easiest way to get the programme on my new laptop (which doesn't accept a DVD actor). I take a 320 GB external difficult drive.

Easiest? Re-create the files direct from the deejay to a binder on the hard drive using some other computer...in nearly cases this works. If information technology doesn't, and then employ ImgBurn to make an ISO, then Daemon Tools to mount it equally a virtual bulldoze on the new figurer.

Scycotic answer is also the one I recommend.
I have ISO-imaged most of my applications which were originally on DVD/CD
They all sit on my NAS at present.

I actually copied the files straight to my hardrive and it did install even so when the option comes to install linguistic communication it can't notice the CD player - I merely have the option to "endeavor again" or "render to add/remove languages". Does this mean I have to have ISO epitome as y'all guys suggested? I don't want to run into the same problem.

Yeah, the ISO method should resolve that.

Just a couple of questions. Do I demand to uninstall the plan I merely installed or would I be able to select the linguistic communication files after the Daemon Tools have been mounted? Also to download the daemon tools I simply download from here and run it? http://www.disc-tools.com/download/daemon

Don't know for your specific situation. Doesn't hurt to try the language files first before you try the reinstall. And yes, that's the link.
